In March 2023, the Stockholm listed Sweco acquired Belgium-based VK architects+engineers from Down 2 Earth Capital.
Since the entry of Down 2 Earth Capital in 2017, VK architects+engineers has grown into a leading, multidisciplinary architecture and engineering group in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom. Throughout this period, the group successfully completed seven add-on acquisitions totaling over €70 million in revenue with more than 600 employees. As a result of these acquisitions, the company has significant experience in the design and engineering of healthcare, building, industry and infrastructure projects and has been involved in several landmark projects such as Barco One Campus, Post X, Ghelamco Arena, Möbius, NATO HQ, Oosterweel and many more.
Kumulus Partners was appointed exclusive financial adviser to the Sellers. Following Sweco’s interest in acquiring the company, Kumulus assisted management and Down 2 Earth Capital throughout the entire process ranging from project coordination and due diligence support to deal structuring and final negotiation.
